As illustrated in the screenshot below, it does create a rather confusing series of folders with just as “strangely” named files inside them. When you re-start Spotify it’ll move all of the files to the new location. ![]() The above action will take you to the Settings page. After opening the Spotify application, click on the drop-down menu appearing at the top-right corner and select Settings. When you’ve selected the new location, restart Spotify. First, open the start menu, search for Spotify and click on the result to open it. You will almost certainly want to create a specific folder to store all of the other folders that Spotify will create. It’s worth mentioning that Spotify creates a bit of a ‘mess’ when it stores files – it utilizes a lot of coded folder and file names. Now select the folder where you want Spotify to save files for offline listening etc.Scroll down until you find the section titled Offline Songs Storage.Scroll to the bottom of the Spotify Preferences and click the SHOW ADVANCED SETTINGS.Also I recommend to prevent SpotifyHelper.exe to starte at every windows bootup. So you need to install the newest EXE version manually. The only problem I discovered: Spotify is not able to install software updates. ![]() Windows users: select Edit and then Preferences… Copy that Spotify folder to your desktop or wherever you want to have it saved as portable app.
